Preparing for Christmas!
This week has been fantastic. We have had so much fun as we get ourselves in the Christmas spirit! On Wednesday we had our Christmas jumper day. The children had lots of fun preparing their tables ready for a sit down lunch together in our classroom. They made Christmas hats and decorations.
On Wednesday afternoon, the children made calendars for 2022 and Christmas cards for our community and our families. They were really nice activities, this was made better by the children's fantastic behaviour.
In maths, we are exploring how to bridge ten from any 2-digit number. The children realised how them having a secure number non knowledge enables them to do this quickly and efficiently.
In English, we have been asked by Henry the Explorer to write a report about an Australian animal. He is going off for another expedition! We have been carrying out some research on the perentie. These can be quite dangerous, so we thought we should find out more about them. We started our research by asking good questions that will help Henry. We have used books, the Internet and videos to help us find the answers to out questions. Next week, we will use all this information to write a non-chronological report.
We are continuing our practise for our Nativity. The children have worked very hard to remember their lines. Thank you for getting your tickets. We look forward to showing it to you next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thanks for a fantastic week Year 2. Have a lovely weekend. Mrs Ingram:)
