Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

Term 3 – In this topic the children’s knowledge will come full circle. Starting with science, children will compare different lifecycles and should be able to identify key characteristics which they can use to classify an array of species.

In English, we will be diving into the beautifully depicted narrative poem, ‘Once upon a raindrop’. This carefully illustrated book plays with poetry, bending the purpose of water, beyond its typical use. The author showcases many literacy techniques such as alliteration, personification and onomatopoeia. Absorbing these powerful practices, the children will endeavour to apply them to their own pieces of poetry.

This topic has a real splash of creativity and colour. They will explore river systems including a focus on the Amazon before thinking about the Vikings and deciding if they were raiders or traders.
