Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

This week we have been super busy!  The children have demonstrated how hard working they are once again.  Below is a summary of our learning.

English:

We have completed our first creation story.  It was based on the story of Persephone.  The children have created their own versions which are a great read.  We started by creating a story map and considering what language we could use to excite the reader.  We were then able to create an introduction that hooks our reader.  The middle of our stories created drama and we discovered the problem that our main character was faced.  Rest assured we then created a satisfying ending!

Maths:

In maths we have been adding coins.  We made sure that we could identify all the coins and notes and understood their value.  We then used a variety of methods to help us add more then 3 coins together.  I am impressed with how well the children dealt with this challenge!

Science:

In science we continued our learning on the scientist Jane Goodall.  We used videos to learn more about how Jane would have learnt about the chimps behaviours.  We had to be very observant and used this information to answer the many questions we had about these wonderful animals.

Topic:

In our topic we became architects of London.  It was our job to redesign London after the Great Fire of London.  We had to think about how we could make the streets safer for the people.

R.E

We have been learning about how the forty days of Lent is an opportunity for Christians to turn about from what is bad and to seek ways to do good by prayer and by doing something extra to prepare for the celebrate of Jesus’ Resurrection at Easter.  The children have been learning about Holy Week and they have shared the good that they and their families do during this special time.
