                                               CHANGING STATES - SUMMER TERM

Well - what a fine term of learning we have in store!!

Our Caritas Theme for this term is all about Common Good - How we face challenges together.

During our first half-term, we will be learning about Natural Disasters around the world.  This will include finding out what causes volcano eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis and avalanches.  We will study natural disasters that have happened throughout history, locating these on a world map.  This links with our Caritas theme as we will be thinking about how communities faced the challenge of living through a Natural Disaster.

FAMSI - Maya Writing - Writing in Maya Glyphs: A Non-Technical Introduction to Maya Glyphs

After half-term our focus will change - we will be learning all about the Maya civilisation!

We will learn where they were/are located, about their pyramids and temples.  We will find out about their dress and leisure activities.  We will also study some Maya recipes!  This links to our Caritas theme of facing challenges together - because the Maya faced different challenges throughout their time.
