Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

Wow!  What a fabulous start to Year 6 we have had!!

We have already started so much learning.... Take a look below.

War horse – Book recommendations by children for children – Saved You a SpotIn our English lessons we have started reading the book 'War Horse' by Michael Morpurgo.  It is a historical fiction book set in WW1.  We have been introduced to the characters Joey, Albert, Zoey and Ted Narracott (Albert's father).  This week we made predictions on what we thought the book would be about.  We have also produced some diary entries in character as Albert and Ted.

In maths, we have been recapping on our knowledge and understanding of place value (including decimal numbers).  We have been ordering, comparing and rounding numbers.  We have also been learning how to convert decimal numbers to fractions (tenths/hundredths/thousandths).

In our Topic lessons, we have been thinking about our Caritas theme - Our family and Community: Building up the kingdom of God.  We have also created a timeline to recognise when the two World Wars took place in relation to other historical periods.

In RE, we have been discussing the work of St. Paul - who travelled to various communities to spread the Good News.  We will be moving on to thinking about the meaning of unconditional love.
