Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have begun this week by launching our new Topic - BEING HUMAN.  We started by thinking about our Caritas Theme - Happiness is recognising rights and responsibilities.  We learnt about Human Rights and how, sadly, some countries do not follow them.

Later on in the week, in our Science lesson, we thought about our prior learning of some of the systems within our body (skeletal, digestive, muscular).  We then started to look at the circulatory system and labelled parts of the human heart.

Pig-Heart Boy - Picture 1 of 1

In English, we began our Persuasive Writing unit.  This was launched by introducing our new book, Pig Heart Boy.  We have only read the first few chapters, but are already engrossed in the story!  We worked together to create a persuasive argument answering the question 'Should animals be kept in zoos?'

Maths lessons this week have focused on measures.  We have been converting g and kg, ml and l, and mm, cm, m and km.  We also consolidated our learning of 24 hour time and Roman numerals.

Our RE topic this term is called ;Sources'.  We began by thinking about books and their purpose, and then focused on the most important book for Christians: The Bible.
