By the end of your child's time in Nursery they should be able to:

  • Have confidence to talk to adults and children;

  • Can play in a group of children nicely;

  • Understands their own feelings and those of others;

  • Be able to cope with changes;

  • Be able to sit on the carpet and focus their attention;

  • Beginning to understand how to answer a simple question or respond to a simple direction;

  • Being able to express their ideas and why they have made these;

  • Can move safely in a variety of ways ;

  • Can hold a pencil between their thumb and two fingers;

  • Beginning to copy letters and make other marks which they can explain;

  • Is able to dress independently and also indicate when they need to go to the toilet;

  • Develop an interest in stories;

  • Can count to 10 and shows an interest in  numbers;

  • Can talk about the size of objects in their environment.
