Week 9 1st November 2021
It amazes me that we are already in November! The children are making great progress and their attitude to learning continues to make me very proud.
Thank you for all the recycling that the children brought into school. The children used these resources in their Growth Mindset Lesson to make a shared model with their learning partner. They used a variety of resources to inspire their model which they planned and created together. Year 2 showed excellent team work and collaboration skills. They were also very mature at deciding who would take the model home which impressed me. The children learnt other skills such as asking questions; making improvements; and problem-solving. The pictures are in the gallery for you to see.
In English, we are learning how to write a successful set of instructions. We are using the Diary of a Wombat story to inspire our work. This mischievous wombat has been up to all sorts of trouble trying to get all the things she needs to survive, which is upsetting the humans. Don't worry though, Year 2 are going to catch him, so they can make him a luxurious home with plenty of his favourite delicious food!
In maths, we have been learning all about:
- Measuring lengths in metres and centimetres
- Using positional language to give instructions
- Telling the time using an analogue clock (o clock and half past the hour)
Super learning this week!
Have a wonderful weekend Year 2!
