Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

This week the children have been working very hard.  It is their first full week back after our two weeks of remote learning.  Yet again the children came back ready to work and were focused in their learning. In maths and English this week the children have been completing quizzes to show their learning from September.  They embraced this challenge very well!

In our topic work the children have been exploring Australian Dot Art.  Dot painting is made up of small dots of paint colours like yellow (representing the sun), brown (the soil), red (desert sand) and white (the clouds and the sky). These are traditional Aboriginal colours.  The children then had the opportunity to create their own.

Then they learnt about the symbols the Aborigines used to write and share their stories.  The stories taught the people important cultural stories or survival techniques.   The children shared their own stories using similar symbols.  Both of these pieces of work can be found here.

In PSHE the children were looking at different social situations that involved people being unkind or bullying.  The children worked in groups to act out these different scenarios and then decide what the best solution was to support either themselves or someone else who is victim to such behaviour.
