Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

The children have settled in beautifully following their Easter Break.  It was lovely to hear of the nice things they have been doing in this time.  The children have come back with a great work ethic and have shown me how enthusiastic they are about our new topic.

We started our week with a very special visitor - a real life Oompa Loompa! Who opened up our topic with a golden ticket.  He explained all about the marvellous things we will be learning this term.

In English, we have been looking at poetry and exploring the poems made by the Oompa Loompa's in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  The children have been reciting them and will have the opportunity to write their own versions next week.

In maths, the children have been looking at adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers using a number line.  They have been showing their understanding of place value and this skill has helped them as we explored 3-digit numbers as well.

In our topic learning we have been learning about what our body needs to keep healthy.  The children identified many questions that they would like to answer throughout the coming weeks.

Well done Year 2 for a fantastic start to our Summer Term!
