Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

We have had a very busy week back! The children have settled in beautifully once again.

This week the children have been introduced to our new topic - Life Down Under.  We explored some of the animals, landmarks and ways of living in the country Australia.  The children have had a sneaky peek into what their learning will be about in the coming weeks.

In English the children have designed some fantastic flying machines as part of their non-fiction writing unit.  They will write an explanation text about their machines.  This will explain how they works to the reader.

In maths we have been learning about measuring in centimetres and metres.  The children enjoyed measuring how far their toy cars travelled in the classroom.

As part of Road Safety Week the children have designed some posters for the younger children in the school about crossing the road safely.

In computing the children have started to think about online safety.  They have learnt about what a 'digital footprint' is and how we leave a trail of things we look for and use on the Internet.  This knowledge will help us keep safe about the information we write about ourselves.

In our PSHE lessons we discussed assumptions people make about girls and boys.  In Year 2 we have agreed to celebrate how unique we all are despite our differences.

Well done Year 2 for all your fantastic work!
