It was a busy first full week back in Year 6!
The children have started learning about their new topic - Peace (WW1). They have found out about the events that lead up to the start of the war. We also started reading War Horse by Michael Morpurgo in our English lessons. Diary writing has been our writing focus this week, and the children have produced some excellent work.
In maths we have been working on place value of large numbers and decimal numbers. It is really important that we understand the value of each digit!!
In PSHE, we are learning about 'Being me in my world'. We discussed what it was like for children in Ghana who work long hours on Cocoa plantations, which reminded us that we should all be grateful for having the opportunity to get an education.
We look forward to another week of learning!!
