Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

Term 1 – during this topic the children will discover the mysteries of the pyramids, trying to answer our enquiry question: Are the pyramids and mummies the Ancient Egyptians only legacies? Allowing children to become archaeologists of knowledge, delving deep into all the treasures this historic gem has to offer. Our hook with a book is the wonderful 'Secrets of a Sun King' by Emma Carroll.

The Into Africa curriculum enthuses political undertones and exposes the children to learn about a range of different cultures. Our guided reading book ‘Journey to Jo’Burg,’ brings a zest to the children’s reading pallet, encouraging them to go on adventure outside the realms of their own playground.

Learning about the key geographical features forms an important part of our topic. We will locate countries, key physical and human features as well as the varying biomes in the exciting continent. We will also compare place within Africa and with the wider world.

Art is fundamental to this exploration and we will be exploring landscapes with a wide range of media as well as mixing colour palettes to create silhouette pictures.
