Sport at St Luke's!
At St Luke's, we try to open up as many sporting opportunities as possible for all our children, and hope to develop lifelong athletes. We relish the chance for our children to take part in a variety of sports and compete at a high level.
We are currently members of the Harlow School Sports Partnership and have participated in and won many events since joining. Recently, we got into the Harlow Coxhead Cup final, including three other schools, which was held at Harlow Football Club.
Last year, we were assessed on the School Games Kitemark and achieved the Platinum award for the next two years; a feat of which we are extremely proud. This award motivated us to improve and we look forward to playing a wide choice of sports in the next year.
Our extra-curricular sports clubs provide many games for the students at St Luke’s: football for Y1-6, tag rugby, rounders, karate for Key Stage one and two, multi-sports, cheerleading, athletics, gymnastics, dance and cricket. Each term, the clubs vary; the children apply to the clubs that they would like to attend and later they try out their new sport in a small group to overcome obstacles and enjoy the benefits of PE and sport.
We are proud to say that our children enjoy sport and we provide them a good level of teaching in all lessons, giving our pupils the thirst to continue with their sporting endeavours.
