Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

We began this week by continuing with our learning in TOPIC (History).  We learnt about what trench life was like for soldiers during WW1, linking this to our enquiry question 'How we defend ourselves in war?  During our second Topic lesson of the week, we focused on Science and discussed how SOUND travels around the school, thinking about the best places to put fire alarms!

Shaun and Max led our Classroom Worship this week; the focus was based on a story we heard in Gospel Assembly: The Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard.  We discussed how it is not always about winning or being the best.  Coming 2nd or last can be good.

In English, we continued our Narrative Unit.  We revisited our knowledge and understanding of dialogue and practised putting it into our writing.  We also wrote powerful descriptions about different settings.

In maths, we focused on column subtraction.  We applied our skills to solving some tricky multi-step word problems!

During our RE lessons, we spent time learning about Oscar Romero.  He was so inspiring to many.  We learnt about how he was assassinated because he was standing up for justice.  We then designed our own Romero cross, similar to the one pictured below.
